On the Chicago stop of her cookbook tour, Carla Lalli focuses on the finer things, like an imaginary wine bar called "Finest Wine List." It's a place that exists only in the daydreams spun by Carla and her sister, Nina. And now--on the occasion of Carla's new book--for one night only, in Ukrainian Village. Carla has invited Marie Cheslik, sommelier and internet personality, to join her for a wine tasting at Present Company, All Together Now's gathering space. Marie will curate a wine tasting inspired by the warm, fuzzy feelings of thinking about family. She's taking a page from Carla's late father Frankie, who didn't always categorize his wine cellar by region or grape, but by tags like “The Good Stuff $$$” and “Probably Garbage.” In other words, the pomp and circumstance are going out the window. After all, food is a feeling, and the wine should be too. (She'll try to avoid the garbage section, though.) The team from All Together Now and Present Company will pull out an all-star lineup of snacks inspired by Carla's new cookbook, and there's going to be a cheese board to write home about. Your ticket includes food, wine, a signed copy of Food is a Feeling, and a memento straight from Frankie's cellar.
